STEPS



• STEP 1


Make sure you have Photoshop opened and the document you are working with opened as well.



• STEP 2



As you can see we have our document ready, and can now select anything from the image. Selection tools help you pick and cut-out what you want from the image you are currently editing. We will start by using the rectangular selection tool.



• STEP 3


By clicking the rectangular selection tool, you can click and drag a selection of any size you want from the image. This allows you to select exactly what you want from the image in a rectangle or square shape. This is the most commonly used selection tool.




• STEP 4


From they we can switch the selection tool, by going over to the rectangular selection tool, right click on it, and see a drop down box of other selection tools.

1. Rectangular selection tool (rectangular/square pattern)

2. Elliptical marquee selection tool (oval or circle pattern)

3. Lasso selection tool (it allows you to draw out a selection of your choice)
